Hope you're enjoying your Saturday! Time to sit down, relax, and read a silly POALOF fan comic! :)

Since both Marianne and Sophie don't come from an aristocratic background, they must've had a lot to talk about, right?

This comic is brought to you by my Patreon community! Shout-out to Baby D. for sharing this idea (thanks Baby!)!

Have a restful weekend!

I just posted an update about my secret project on Patreon – consider supporting me there if you appreciate my art! What is Patreon? Patreon is a platform that enables me to continue making art. It helps me create goodies for you and buy art supplies (inks, paper, watercolors, markers, etc.).

Patrons receive special perks✨! Through a weekly newsletter and access to my patron-only stories on Instagram, they see how I create comics and art from start to finish, sneak peeks, and receive occasional patron-only merch along the way^^. My story: I believe that art creates space for joy. This came through self-reflection on my creative process and with other people's art - be it dance, theater, film, literature and even food! Of course in life there are a lot challenges. Sometimes, it's not easy to feel joyful.

Especially when you're alone on your journey. But thanks to my Patreon community, I feel empowered to keep going because I know that they have my back. Here are what my current patrons have to say: "My experience has been good so far, thank you. I enjoy receiving Portrait and other exclusives in my mailbox from time to time." - Ros H.

"I'm really enjoying your updates and posts through Patreon. It's been nice getting to know you through your artwork and personal reflections not just on your art but also on life. I don't have any suggestions at the moment. You've been doing such a great job so far. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Sending you a big hug." - Nina L. Awesome! Where do I start? Do you find yourself doing a LOT of overtime? Or traveling a lot?

For me, there was a time when I felt like I should be doing something productive (even after working) such as drawing. Otherwise, I couldn't sit still!

But here's what happened: after hours of working nonstop and filling that downtime, I'd go on YouTube and end up binge-watching hours upon hours of videos.

Like a ZOMBIE!!

And then I'd feel bad after for wasting my time.

I stopped. I realized that I couldn't keep going on like that, so I looked up ways on how to still be productive without burning out.

And today, I wanna share those tips with you:

#1 Rest, recovery and play are very important! Our bodies need to decompress after hours of work. But this doesn't mean playing games on your phone - anything that involves facing a screen actually doesn't really help the mind relax.

Instead, you can do things such as taking a nap, meditating, playing catch, taking a walk in nature, drawing, doing crafts, cooking - hobbies or things that you did for fun as a kid!

#2 Create your 'ME TIME' and schedule it! This may sound a bit antisocial (lol) but it works for me. Apparently, one of my colleagues does it, too.

For example: every Sunday, I set aside 1-2 hours for myself and go to a café without looking at my phone - that's right, NO emails, NO social media, and no third parties!

And put it on your calendar. Because if it's not scheduled, it's not real!

#3 If you still end up binge-watching Youtube videos: don't beat yourself up over it. Acknowledge that it's already done - it's in the past now - and come up with a simple plan so that you'll do it less next time.

For example, I decided that I'd watch only 3 videos max if I ever find myself led to Yt, leave - and that's it!

I know, it kinda sounds similar to quitting smoking lol, but at least it's more manageable than going cold turkey, right?

So what 1 thing will you apply and do this week? Let me know how it goes! :)

Much love,

Rose
